Saptapadi (Seven Vows)
Saptapadi is a Sanskrit word that means "seven steps".
During the Saptapadi ritual, the bride and groom take seven steps together, each step representing a vow they make to each other. The ceremony is considered to be a sacred and important part of the wedding, symbolizing the union of two individuals into one.
In some regions of India, the Saptapadi ceremony is also known as "Saath Phere" or "Seven Circles", as the bride and groom circle around a sacred fire seven times, each time taking a vow. Overall, the Saptapadi is an important and significant part of Hindu weddings, and is seen as a sacred bond between two people that lasts a lifetime.
